Arizona Sports And Tourism Projected To Award $2.5 Million During 2018 Biennial Grant Cycle

GLENDALE - The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (AZSTA) is projected to award up to $2.5 million in grants in its 2018 youth and amateur sports biennial grant program.

The grant monies will be awarded to qualified projects that serve the youth and amateur sports community within Maricopa County. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) organization and be able to provide matching dollars equal to at least 50 percent of the amount requested from the Authority.

"Pursuant to the Authority's Youth and Amateur Sports mission, our goal is to make sure that agencies that qualify for our youth and amateur grant program seize the opportunity to access funding to assist them in creating new programs or improving existing programs," said Jody Harwood, AZSTA Youth and Amateur Sports Committee Chair.

Information on the biennial grant program may be found at www.az-sta.com. Grant applications will be available online starting April 7, 2017. The deadline to submit a completed grant application is Friday, May 26, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
